Established in 1991, GM Mining Electrics provides auto-electrical services to the worldwide mining industry, including:
* Remote and tele-remote control equipment
* Auto-electrical work to various surfaces and underground equipment
* Component manufacture and remanufacture
* Short and long-term labour hire
* Supply of parts and spares
GM Mining Electrics provides a range of remote and tele-remote control equipment to improve safety and operation.
GM Mining Electrics’ radio remote control systems are durable, adaptable and comply with mine department and Australian regulations.
GM Mining Electrics offers purpose-built tele-remote control operator stations with a chair, two LCDs, audio and machine fault feedback, and air-conditioning.
GM Mining Electrics’ machine logic control system has a 1/3in CCD colour fixed view camera, a 440,000px zoom camera, a 12V microphone and a pan and tilt unit.
GM Mining Electrics designs, builds and commissions electrical and hydraulic interfaces.
Tele-remote control systems
GM Mining Electrics’ TELECAM series of tele-remote control systems are designed to replicate the vehicle operator’s cabin as closely as possible, thus reducing operator confusion in the switch from manual to remote operation.
TELECAM tele-remote control systems vary in configuration from machine to machine. Each system can be tailored to meet clients’ specific requirements.
Radio remote control systems
The HBC FST-735 and FST-770 radio remote control systems are fully proportional radio systems capable of controlling mobile mining equipment such as LHD loaders (boggers), skid steer loaders, drill rigs, dozers, excavators, cranes, rock breakers and trucks.
Durable and adaptable mine systems
The HBC radio systems are durable and adaptable, and have proven workability within the Australian mining industry. The systems meet all mine department and Australian regulations, and have a dual failsafe emergency-stop system.
Radio system transmitter
The HBC radio system’s transmitter has the following features:
* Compact, lightweight and rugged construction
* IP65 enclosure protection
* Large robust joysticks
* ‘Deadman’ service brake application
* Fully sealed switches
* ‘Plug in’ battery pack
* Battery-indication LED and audible alarm
* TX tilt protection
* Rigid shoulder harness or belt clip mounts
Radio system receiver
The HBC radio system’s receiver has the following features:
* Machined die-cast aluminium construction
* IP65 enclosure protection
* LED status indication lights
* High quality multi-pole electrical connector
* Receiver outputs available include digital, analogue, PWM, DDEC, Danfoss
Radio system batteries
The HBC radio system is provided with two high-capacity nickel metal hydrate rechargeable batteries. Each battery provides enough operating time to cover a shift of operation - typically 12 hours. In addition, GM Mining Electrics provides a single-station battery charger with LED indication, which shows the state of the batteries.
Drill rig remote control system
GM Mining Electrics has designed a state-of-the-art remote control system to operate the latest generation of drilling rigs. This system is versatile, adaptable, and expandable, and meets all of the current remote control regulations and Australian standards. The drill rig remote control system has the following features:
* Failsafe design
* Disparity checking
* Digital and analogue inputs and outputs
* Programmable
Tele-remote control operator stations
GM Mining Electrics provides various styles of operator stations, including:
* Purpose-built portable cabins
* Mobile vehicles
* Control rooms - located on the surface or underground
* Portable suitcases
Purpose-built control operator stations
The tele-remote control operator stations are purpose-built and can be manufactured to suit a specific client’s requirements. Each station (excluding the portable suitcase) is equipped with an operator’s chair, two LCDs, audio and machine fault feedback, and air-conditioning.
The stations are connected to the area in which the machine is operational via an independent communication system, which is designed for each individual work area by GM Mining Electrics’ fully trained staff.
Machine logic control system
GM Mining Electrics provides a machine logic control system, complete with a camera, a pan and tilt unit and a microphone.
Machine logic fixed-view camera
GM Mining Electrics’ fixed-view 1/3in CCD colour camera has the following features:
* 450TVL resolution
* Effective pixels – 380,000(N), 440,000(P)
* 2.8mm focal length
* Composite PAL video signal of 1.0V peak-to-peak output
* Marine-grade aluminium housing with a protective glass view port
* 12V to 26V input
Machine logic zoom camera
GM Mining Electrics’ zoom camera has the following characteristics:
* 26x zoom lens
* 460TVL resolution
* 440,000px
* Composite PAL video signal of 1.0V peak-to-peak output
* Marine-grade aluminium housing with a protective glass view port
* 12V input
Machine logic pan and tilt unit
GM Mining Electrics’ pan and tilt unit has the following features:
* Weatherproof heavy duty anodised aluminium construction
* 12V input
* 340° pan
* +/-45° tilt
* Adjustable limit switches
Microphone
GM Mining Electrics’ machine logic control system has a high gain microphone with a 12V input.
