Minova’s solutions to strata support problems.

Following the acquisition of Sandvik CPD, Minova has reinforced its role as the world’s leading supplier of resin cartridges.

The use of Minova’s Lokset resin capsules permits point anchoring or full column grouting with tensioned or untensioned bolts to be achieved both quickly and economically. This allows for fast and effective rock support, which is critical for overall stability.

Lokset capsules can be used with both pneumatic and hydraulic bolting machines and come in a wide variety of sizes and setting times which can be chosen to best suit the customers requirements.

Recent developments, such as the Lokset Spin to Stall cartridge in South Africa, have helped eliminate the effects of operational variables, such as ambient temperature and spin speed, so that the installation becomes self-timing and self-checking.

Minova South Africa formulated a unique resin capsule that combines extremely fast setting with high strength. The special resin is used in combination with a threaded rockbolt and a nut that turns the rockbolt until a pre-determined torque is reached, when it breaks free and runs up the thread.

Minova has also expanded its product range to include the Wibolt EXP, an expandable friction bolt available in a range of sizes and strength ratings.

The Capcem capsule range of encapsulated cementitious grouts is able to tolerate large hole/bar ratios and requires no in hole mixing.

FOAMS AND RESINS FOR STRATA INJECTION

Specialist solutions to specialist problems.

Underground operations often have problems with friable and water bearing strata. Such problems can only be solved using specialised injection products.

Wilkit and Wipur are twin component injection resins, which can be used for ground consolidation and face reinforcement.

Wilkit Foam is a fast reacting organominerallic foam, which can be used to inject against water ingress.

The Wiborex system enables injection and anchoring in one operation. The Wiborex system can be used in conjunction with both Wilkit and Wilkit foam.

FLEXIBLE COATING SYSTEMS

Flexible, high strength strata support.

Tekflex is a high tensile sealant specially designed to permanently stabilise the integrity of rock structures. Widely used as a mesh replacement Tekflex is able to accommodate the stresses associated with strata movement while providing a barrier to moisture degradation.

Tekflex is a cement-based sprayable coating designed with superb flexibility, high tensile strength and excellent adhesive qualities.

PUMPED GROUT SUPPORT

Unique formulations for specialised applications.

Minova International is able to offer both cementitious and resin based strata support grouts and foams.

These grouts and foams are formulated to use a high water content, which leads to reduced material usage and reduced transport costs.

Products include: Tekblend, Tekset, Durafoam and Tekfoam

Wilflex is a two component phenolic foam which when pumped through a suitable application pump forms a rapidly reacting foam. Due to the quick reaction time and very high foaming factor, Wilflex can be used to rapidly fill cavities even in remote locations.
